Food: What we’re eating

Meet the team! The kitchen is headed up by Georgina Webber our Deputy Head. Our Chef Sofia has been with us since we started and she is supported by Sadiyo, Shooco and Jessie. They prepare all of our meals using the fantastic ingredients we get in from our trusted suppliers or grow in our garden. Everyday there is a choice at lunch and all of our school community eats together - we do not have any packed lunches.

Each term we review the menu based on what is in season. This term we are excited about having blackberries with our yogurt, plums for the crumble and some particularly delicious tomatoes. New ingredients are shared with students during our weekly board meetings and we even use food to reward the class with the best weekly attendance. Attendance prizes have included cucumbers, celery and even a plate of smoked burrata!

Our experiential learning model means we can use food and our kitchen as an integrated learning tool. At Greenside, the kitchen is a learning space and our students use food to bring the curriculum to life - and that even involves helping to cook the school lunch.
